The UPD made a study visit to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands
On December 9th 2011, ten people of UPD visited the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.
Achan Sunai
MP and Chair of the Foreign Affairs for the Thai Parliament decided to join us, we got the honnour of the presence of His Excelency the Ambassador of Thailand, Mister Virachai Plasai

The ICC visit was genuinely organized by the Public Relation of the Protocole of the Court.
As a matter of standard orientation, the visit started by an introduction of some particularities of the ICC procedures, 
The speech was given by Emeric Roger, Chief of the Situation Analysis Section at the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
After that introduction, many questions were raised by the visitors, besides our group from Thailand some others were from India and the US.
Our delegation then splitted, the main going to assist to the ongoing procedure related to the situation in the Republic of Central Africa.

An UPD delegation accompanied Achan Sunai and the Ambassador of Thailand, his Excellency, Mister Virachai Palasai to be received by the Second Vice-President of the Court, Judge Dr Jur HC Hans-Peter Kaul.

Early in the week, Judge Kaul had forwarded several documents to the Embassy. He was very pleased to see for us as he has been in January 2011 in Thailand at Thammasat University to speak about the Court. The documents he forwarded earlier were related to this event in Thammasat.

He went further to introduce some more specialities of the ICC before giving the word to Achan Sunai, who had the chance to affirm he would
, starting from now, be the first sponsor of the ratification of the Rome Statute by Thailand. The explanations of Judge Kaul being so clear no one could oppose ratification.

Our delegation joined the rest of the group to watch the witness hearings going on.

After that, thanking everybody, we took some photos in front of the Court building main entrance, before joining the Ambassador's reception in honnour of Achan Sunai.
